A family bikes from Alaska to Argentina
Several weeks ago I came across this blog of a family of four who will be biking from Alaska to Argentina, over the course of 2.5 years. This isn’t the first time they’ve done something like this. Last year they finished a one year tour across America and parts of Mexico. They blogged their trip and I went through the archives and spent about 2 days reading everything. I think it’s quite amazing. If I was a better bike rider, I might even consider doing it with my own family one day. This family met the best these countries have to offer and I’m guessing that feeling was so great, they HAD to do it again, because they did. By the way, the bike mom is a beader!
Here’s a link to my favorite post from their last journey. It’s quite an amazing story of what some Mexican bikers did for the family because of their own experiences on the same streets.
I wish the Vogel family a good trip, I can’t wait to read more. In the meantime, here’s a video about Alaska Railroad adventures.

Thanks so much for the well wishes!! We just finished the first 500 miles of our journey - and absolutely fabulous journey along the Dalton Highway! We are looking forward a few days to rest and relax, but then will be hitting the road again.
