There are two projects I’ve been working on that I’ve had a lot of fun with. My third anniversary is coming up. We decided early in our marriage that we were going to challenge ourselves by purchasing something under the traditional anniversary gift lists that are very popular in the back of the free hallmark calendars you can pick up at the beginning of the year.

On our first anniversary (paper) I bought a scrapbook and drew some pictures of some of the happy and funny moments we have had over the first year of marriage. Inside jokes, our crazy neighbors antics, trips we’ve gone on… I made the images small and glued them to a 12×12 piece of scrapbook paper and called it year one. I did the same last year, only with more input from my husband. I think he’s looking forward to seeing what we come up with for our third year. This has been a lot of fun.

Project two also involves scrapbooking, in a way. At my engagement party, a friend bought me a wedding scrapbook of sorts. I wasn’t really sure what to do with it because I didn’t really feel like scrapbooking my wedding and I made a scrapbook of our honeymoon while on the honeymoon.

I decided to use it as an anniversary scrapbook. Again, another one of our early marriage decisions was to travel to a place neither of us had been to for our anniversary each year. We went on a cruise to Turks & Caicos for our first anniversary, Puerto Rico for our second, and we’re off to Michigan and Chicago for our third.

To make this book I put a picture from our wedding on the first page. Stamped out some letters to read “Our Anniversaries”. The next two pages is pictures from our honeymoon, and I used the same stamps to stamp the letters “honeymoon”, then a two page spread for “first”. (A two page spread because we had to include the pictures of us eating the cake.) Then a one page spread for our “second” and “third”. I like this book a lot. It’s fun to see how we age!
