Holiday Traditions
I am constantly on the lookout for meaningful holiday traditions. And the most meaningful, in my opinion, are the ones repeated year after year. Here’s a list of some of my family, my in-laws, and other holiday traditions that I just don’t want to forget. I’d also love to hear some of yours in the comments.
- Make a new holiday Ornament
- Buy a holiday ornament for the tree
- Everyone crafts a new holiday decoration for the house
- Buy (or make) a frame ornament with the year imprinted and add the year’s picture
- Play holiday music
- Drink hot chocolate and explain that we’re drinking hot chocolate for the holidays
- Look at christmas lights outside and grade them on a scale from 1 to 10
- Attend Christmas events around town
- Buy gifts from local craft fairs
- Make lots and lots of cookies
- Open gifts on Christmas Eve
- Open gifts Christmas morning
- Prepare a wide array of appetizers Christmas Eve
- Hang the stocking by the bed early Christmas Morning
- Open a gift of Christmas-themed PJs on Christmas Eve
- Attending midnight Mass
- Go to a Christmas party or two
