New York, NY
I’m leaving on Friday for a short little trip up to NYC with my husband and one of our friends from Germany. We’ll be staying in Brooklyn, which I’ve never really experienced in the day-time, so that’ll be fun. At least I hope it’s fun. I’ve heard people are really fond of Brooklyn these days. We’ll see. We’re also going to be jam-packing our short stay with the popular sites, the not-as-popular sites, and hanging out with friends. It’s a lot. But, I’m looking forward to it. I haven’t been up there in a while. I like all the food options.
Since the males out number the female, I doubt I’ll be able to check out any of the shops that have been part of my “must-see” in NY list for the past year. And as if they knew and wanted to taunt me, craftzine.com had a link about a fabric shop up in NY. It’s even the one the designers in project runway go to. I want to see it. I can’t see it. There’s no way I will be able to do what I want to do within the 5 minutes I’ll be allotted in that place if we even all decided that’s where we should go. And we won’t. Fabric is too practical, and this is going to be an impractical trip filled with long nights, bagels, pizza, walking and lots of laughs. And coffee.
I think I’m going to take a lot of pictures, though. I won’t get fabric, but I’ll always have my camera.
I would normally ask for advice on things to do, but I don’t know if this will just hurt more than help… oh, what the hell, do you have any suggestions?

I would sneak over into some of these shops you’ve thought about visiting. It’s such a shame not to! Give them something manly to be distracted with and sneak on your own if you have to, but do go!
Brooklyn has become Manhattan Jr. in some aspects. You can make a whole weekend trip there and not even have to step foot in Manhattan. Have fun!
Never been, but I bet it was fun
One of my best friends lives in Brooklyn and she loves it… lots of great restaurants. Have fun!
