The Wildflower Cafe in Clearwater, Florida

If your travels ever take you to Clearwater, Florida (which I would highly recommend they do because the Gulf Coast Beaches in Florida are beautiful!) please take the time to stop at the Wildflower Cafe. Their website title says “Exceptional Food” and I wholeheartedly agree. I went to an event once and someone brought a lemon cake from that cafe. This was years ago. It took me almost a year to stop thinking about it every day. I think now I think about this cake once a week. It was so dense, yet so light. It was soft, with sugar crystals that added more than just a textural difference, it mixed with the cake and frosting flavors to create the perfect cake experience.

ah.

I’d love to hear about more must-eat places in other cities and towns. If you have any, please share in the comments or send me an email.

Food Fun

I saw this on 28 cooks and wanted to do it. From the 28 cooks blog:

So I saw this on Very Good Taste and thought it looked like fun, so I’m playing a long. It’s a list of 100 food items that this blogger feels should be eaten by everyone. I was surprised by how much I’ve eaten off of this list.

If you’d like to play along:
1) Copy this list into your blog or journal, including these instructions.
2) Bold or Italicize all the items you’ve eaten.
3) Cross out any items that you would never consider eating.
4) Optional extra: Post a comment at www.verygoodtaste.co.uk linking to your results.

I’d like to add that if you do decide to do it either post a comment here as well linking to your post, or just comment with your answers.

Here’s my results:

The good folks over at Food Proof have gone through this list and described each of these items! Yay. I then realized that item #2, Nettle Tea, is actually something I’ve never tried. For some reason I thought it said Nestle Tea. Anyway, I’m going to keep it bolded on the list so these last two statements make sense.

4 Things

1. I love waffles, especially homemade ones. But, if I can’t have them, Strawberry Eggos aren’t too bad. These are probably going to be my breakfast for the next 5 days.

2. Here’s a glimpse into a project I’m working on. I’m trying to keep photos of the process, we’ll see how that goes. I’m in love with how cute the birds are, though.

3. A portion of a painting I have hanging on the wall I look at while I’m on my computer. My husband picked it up in Ecuador.

4. Felt: An extreme close-up of another project I’m working on. This one might never see the light of day. I’m having the hardest time finding a very specific tool to finish the project and I don’t think that tool exists. For some reason photoshop refused to let me scale this picture down, so I decided to keep it an extreme close-up.
