Travel From Home
The reality is that staying home is more affordable than traveling. And as much as I want to travel a ton, I also know that sometimes, life’s other obligations force me to stay home. So, my solution to this problem is to get more international at home. Here’s my plan. First, I’m going to devote two weeks to each destination I “travel” to. During these two weeks, I’ll do some research online about the place. Then do the following in regards to the place of two weeks: Watch several movies. Read a book. Make a meal (or two). Learn about local crafts, language, and history. What else can I do? Do you have any suggestions? During my two week “vacation” I will commemorate the “trip” with a souvenir. A handmade souvenir. Possibly a collage. Oh. I am so excited.
I don’t want to call this a vacation, or a staycation, or a naycation. No. This is different. For this, I will just call it Travel From Home. My first destination… Budapest! I’m not going to start this till the New Year, but I’m going to go ahead and start doing some research now.
