The Silk Road
Here’s an interesting link that gives a lot more details on the silk road. When I was reading about Azerbaijan, the website kept on referring to the Silk Road as the Great Silk Road (GSR). I thought it was just an honorary title the Azerbaijan tourist board gave to their historical section of the road. Wrong. It turns out there were quite a few roads and one that went through Azerbaijan is the GSR. If you’re looking for Azerbaijan on the map, just look for its capitol “Baku” and you’ll several several silk roads passed through.
